I’m a freelance writer, editor, copywriter, copyeditor, ghostwriter, and friendly ghost, with clients that range from cruise lines and advertising firms to wineries and digital agencies. The only things that really matter to me in life are creating meaningful connections, listening to other people’s stories, giving a voice to those who need it, and speaking my own honest truth.
My aim is to partner with you to accomplish any or all of those things, or to brainstorm exactly what suits your needs.
Despite being one of the unlucky suckers who graduated college in the wake of the Great Recession, I’ve somehow managed to put my journalism degree to good use over the last decade. I began my career at Entrepreneur, a national monthly consumer magazine focused on business management and entrepreneurship; then, when an opportunity to enter the travel industry cruised by, I jumped ship to join TravelAge West, where I served as Senior Editor of the award-winning travel trade brands TravelAge West, Family Getaways, and Explorer. Today, I’m exploring the wildness of being a human in a topsy-turvy landscape and seeking to uncover how I can make the world a better place.
In addition to a breadth of travel work covering everything from embedding with Bedouins in Wadi Rum to climbing Malaysia’s highest peak, I’ve covered topics like feminism in pop culture, what to do if you’re isolated with an abuser, robotics startups, and why cats run the internet. I’m also the recipient of a Gold Prize from the North American Travel Journalists Association.
When I’m not writing, editing, or being ghostly, I can most often be found camping under the stars, planning a road trip to some off-the-grid destination, or talking to woodland critters (or just myself) in the forest. I’m based in Albuquerque, where I frolic with the roadrunners among the hi-dez cacti (and tumbleweeds…so many tumbleweeds).
